But seriously, the “Boomerang” singer, who has been a Grammy nominee along with the Pussycat Dolls and is always a standout on the red carpet, doesn’t think it’s the worst thing in the world.
“I like that they’re doing that,” says Scherzinger, who will release her second solo album early this year. “I don’t see any problem with it because [at the rate it’s going] eventually everyone is going to be coming in bikinis and showing nothing but skin.”
Scherzinger thinks the new rules – that "buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered" as well as no "see-through clothing," exposure of "the genital region," or "thong type costumes," as stipulated in a CBS memo – could really up the glamour factor.
“I think it’s going to be just as great,” says the Hawaii native. “Women can be beautiful and sexy without having to show everything. Keep it sassy but classy!”
And it could influence a whole new level of style in the music industry.
“Personally, I like keeping the old Hollywood glamour alive. If I were going – I’m not because I have a prior work commitment – but if I were, I would definitely just glam it up old school Hollywood style – with just gorgeous, luscious hair,” says the Herbal Essences celebrity ambassador.
While it’s true that work will keep Scherzinger away from the Grammys this year, her fans who tune in to the awards show are in for a surprise. Check back here on omg! Sunday night after the telecast for more from our interview with Scherzinger about that!
